Frederick Kuper Jones, a Chicago native, relocated to Cleveland in 1957 and graduated from Cathedral Latin School in 1961. He graduated from Xavier University with a degree in History and Philosophy in 1965, and continued on to obtain a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Case Western Reserve Weatherhead School of Business and a Master of Arts degree in Classical and Medieval History from Cleveland State University.
For over 35 years, Fred devoted his business efforts to growing, maintaining, managing, and eventually owning all the equity of Phoenix Dye Works – a top-quality textile company that, at one point, provided jobs for 800 Clevelanders. With the steady erosion and ultimate demise of the textile market in the 1990’s, the board members decided to liquidate the company, and Fred, in turn, decided to embrace a new career in benefits, insurance, and investment services. Fred’s unique experience in purchasing these very same products and services has proven to be a great asset to his insurance career, as his clients regard him as someone who truly has in-depth knowledge and experience.
Fred believes that “to those that are given much; much is required.” He has served on various boards in the community, including St. Vincent’s Quadrangle Board, Cleveland State University Foundation Board, and St. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church Board. Fred’s positive attitude and sense of humor make him a joy to be around, and we are happy to have him as an independent Insurance Advisor here at Harding & Jacob.
